Weekend Recap

Yeah, I know it’s Tuesday. I’m just getting to this now, so deal.

It went something like this:

  1. A lot of beer! (Yay Brufest!)
  2. Something about a mechanical bull! (This is probably the only way to get me to listen to country music!)
  3. A lof of cookies to be made! (@dahcheet’s now famous snickerdoodles FTW!)
  4. A lot of kids! (I was in heaven, if you couldn’t tell by the stupid grin on my face the whole time!)
  5. A lot of cookies coming home. (I’m going to be so sick!)
  6. A lovely Sunday breakfast at Square Cafe with a good friend. (That I had to fight to treat him to.)

P.S. If anyone can tell me where in my style.css file I can find how to make my bulleted lists not be all stupid I’ll give you some of these cookies!

NaBloPoMohmy Indeed

The first two weeks of NaBloPoMo exhausted pretty much all the drafts I had half-written and sitting around. I blogged about baking, cooking, food, and even my sister! I’m all tapped out right now, unless you want another food/cooking post. I think I’m overloaded with those right now though, so tough.

I’m sure I’ll have a ton more to write about after this weekend though. I’m really excited for BrewFest and the Cookie Swap.

So, since I don’t have anything else to say and I’m sure you’ve got some annoying loose change in those pockets, why don’t you head over here and put a dollar in the bucket for the kids.

Snickerdoodles

It’s pretty much a given that I bake every weekend in the fall. I’m probably preparing for the Great Bake. While I’m not big into the Christmas holiday it is an excellent excuse to bake loads of cookies and make other people eat them.

My friend Catherine posted in her blog about an awesome snickerdoodle recipe she found. So, I decided to try it out. I didn’t do a very good job, the cookies are not soft like I expected them to be. Oh, darn! I’ll have to make more cookies. What ever will I do with all these baked goods… ?

The recipe called for whipping the butter. I had never done this before and I think I skimped a little on the whipping. I will have to take out some more aggressions on the poor butter next time I try this. I love the pinch of nutmeg added into the cinnamon sugar and I’ve been making cinn. toast for myself every night the last few nights using the leftovers.

Go visit A Little Life, you won’t be sorry. (Also, her pictures are waaaaaaaay better than mine. I’m too lazy to get out my DSL, it’s always an after thought.)

Squish!
